Exercise Prerequisites

Before you begin the exercises in this getting started section:

• FlexNet Operations must be properly installed and configured
• FlexNet Operations seed data and demonstration database must be loaded [Update for cloud also?]

Important: These exercises require a FlexNet Operations database populated with demonstration data. For more information, refer to the step-by-step instructions in the FlexNet Operations On-Premises Installation & Implementation Guide to create seed data using the flexnet loaddb command and to populate the sample data using the flexnet demodata command.

• You must have a FlexNet Operations Producer Portal login and a System Administrator role
• You must complete the exercises in the section Getting Started with Entitlement Management.

License Technology-Specific Prerequisites

• The external SOAP service must be deployed
• If there is no manual technology license generator configured for FlexNet Operations, create a text file on your Desktop called NonFlexManualLicenseFile.lic that contains the line
This is a sample non-FlexNet, manual technology license file.
• For the Custom Generator Interface technology, a Java callout must be compiled and deployed, as described in the FlexNet Operations On-Premises Installation & Implementation Guide. A sample callout class is provided in the site/samples/customgenerator directory.
