Adding Files
The first step in making files available to your customers in the End-User Portal is to add the files to FlexNet Operations.
After a file is added, you can upload a file image and associate the file with one or more download packages. See Editing File Information and Managing File Associations for more information about the actions you can take once a file has been added.
To add a file

In Downloads, click Products > Create File. This link opens the Add File page. |

On the Add File page, enter file-related details for the file you want to add. |
|

|
File Description—(required) The name the End-User Portal displays for the file. Maximum length: 500 characters. |
|
•
|
File ID—(required) Your account’s unique identifier for the file. Maximum length: 100 characters. |
If External is selected as a Delivery Source, enter the following details:

External Source—(required) The URL for the externally sourced file. |
|
•
|
File Size (bytes)—(required) Enter a number or use the calculator icon to automatically calculate the file size. |
Note:The calculator icon only works on external sources that use either the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. All other protocols will return a value of 0.

|
MD5 CheckSum and/or SHA2 CheckSum—(required) At least one of these must be entered, though, optionally both may be. |

3.

Complete the file addition process by clicking Save, Save and Add Another, or Save and Upload File. |

Click Save to add the file and upload the file image later. The Producer Portal saves the file and shows its View File page. |

Click Save and Add Another to save the current file and start adding a new download file. The Producer Portal saves the current file and resets the Add File page fields for new input. |

Click Save and Upload File to add the file and upload the file image. The Producer Portal saves the file and shows the Upload File page. See Uploading a File Image for file image upload instructions. |
