About Download Management and FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery
FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery adds electronic download support to FlexNet Operations. Producers who use FlexNet Operations with FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery define their downloads as part of the product packaging process. The downloads they specify are available to entitled end users in the End-User Portal.
Downloads are specified as download packages. A download package describes a group of files and relates that group with a product, a producer, and, optionally, a license agreement.
Download packages
A product can have many download packages, and download packages can be associated with one or more products. Download packages collect files into groups that might comprise a software release, a component, or any other grouping that fits your account’s needs.
Version:Not all users see FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery features in the Producer Portal. These features—such as download package and download file management—are only available for producers who purchase FlexNet Operations with FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery.
For producers who use FlexNet Operations with FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery, the Producer Portal includes features for managing download packages, files, agreements, and producers. The Products menu includes links for creating and managing these items. Also, product lines, which are otherwise optional, are required for producers who use FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery.

Tip:Export compliance prevents the delivery of files to residents of certain countries, in keeping with U.S. restrictions on the sale of regulated technologies to these countries. The user-configurable export compliance settings are managed at the download package level. For more information about export compliance, see About Export Compliance.
